About us

The non-for-profit association “Bolíto” (standing for “It hurts”) provides assistance to child burn victims, mainly in terms of psychosocial support. It was founded in 2003 by Lenka Šetelíková, head nurse, and Robert Zajíček, chief physician, from the Burn Clinic at Vinohrady University Hospital in Prague. Five years ago, the photographer Jarmila Štuková joined the team; she is mainly involved in creating prevention and awareness-raising campaigns

Robert Zajíček

Burns specialist and chief physician at the Burn Clinic of the Vinohrady University Hospital. He is the chairperson and co-founder of the non-for-profit organisation “Bolíto”. In 2006, he won the main prize awarded by the National Volunteer Centre for his volunteer work with child burn victims.

Jarmila Štuková

Photojournalist working mainly in countries stricken by war, poverty or social problems, such as Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan, the Gaza Strip or Democratic Republic of the Congo. Burn injuries are an issue especially close to her heart. She previously worked alongside Lenka Šetelíková and Robert Zajíček on a successful prevention campaign vagonari.cz focusing on electrical burns caused by train powerlines and aiming mainly at teenagers.
